Young Bruce Wayne witnesses the murder of his parents. But even as detective James Gordon and his colleague Harvey Bullock quickly unravel the case, it turns out that things are not so simple. Apparent justice turns into deception. Gordon, shocked by Bruce's reaction, vows to do anything to find the real killer of the Waynes. But Gotham, corrupt from top to bottom, resists the detective's efforts: from his colleagues to the underworld. James Gordon has started a war in which both supervillains and pawns will appear. Read more In 2013, it became known that Fox ordered a series about superheroes "Gotham", and without a traditional pilot series. At first, the company signed up for only 16 episodes, as opposed to the usual 13 or 22, but later ordered 6 more. Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist”) was appointed as the screenwriter and producer. He said in an interview that he experienced difficulties in writing the story of the series about people with superpowers. Heller's son submitted the idea that Commissioner James Gordon should be the central figure of the plot. Thus, a story known to many since childhood will be told in a new way, in chronological order. In February 2014, Ben McKenzie ("Southland") joined the project in the role of Gordon. He and Heller had already worked together, so the screenwriter relied on the actor when describing the character. Ego's partner was played by Donal Long ("Jaws"). The search for a suitable performer for the role of young Bruce Wayne was the most difficult and long. In the end, it was David Mazouz. Cory Michael Smith, Morena Baccarin (“Deadpool”), Jessica Lucas, Shawn Pertoy, Camren Bicondova, Jada Pinkett Smith, etc. also played in the TV series “Gotham”. The drama series was directed at different times by Danny Cannon (“Shameless”), T. J. Scott (“Strain”), Egil Egilsson (“Arrow”), John Bering (“Flash”), Bill Eagles (“Shouldn’t Heaven”), Guy Ferland ("Sons of Anarchy"), Tim Hunter ("The Pines") and others. Filming of the first season began in March 2014 in New York. The premiere of the series "Gotham" took place on September 22, 2014. After the second season, the project was extended to the third, which should be released in September 2016.
