Read more The "Three Nines" project was first announced in 2010. Director John Hillcoat was to collaborate with screenwriter Matt Cook, and Shia LaBeouf was to play one of the main roles. In 2012, the participation of Hillcoat, LaBeouf was confirmed, and the famous Australian musician Nick Cave was chosen as the composer. Later, he left the project and his place was taken by Atticus Ross, who wrote soundtracks for "The Social Network" by David Fincher, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", "Lost" with Rosamund Pike and others. The film went through many changes in the cast. Initially, Shia LaBeouf was replaced by Charlie Hunnam, and in 2013 he also left to finally give the role to Casey Affleck. Cate Blanchett and Christoph Waltz were in talks to participate in the filming, but Kate Winslet and Woody Harrelson came to "Three Nines" instead. Casting was closed in March 2014. In an interview, John Hillcoat said that it is really difficult to adjust the schedules of all the actors and achieve what is necessary in a project with eight main characters. Filming of the crime film "Three Nines" began in May 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. In July, one of the scenes of the film was filmed with the participation of real paramedics, special forces and police officers.
