The action takes place in the 1970s. The couple arrives in a French seaside town and stays in a hotel room overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Roland is a writer who used to show promising hopes. Now he deals only with stories about who he is, and not with the case itself. His wife, Vanessa, is a dancer. She uses pills and has contempt for everything that comes her way. These two have been married for 14 years, but it only takes a few minutes of observation to wonder: how did they manage it?
