Maura Ellis and her sister Kate live an independent life. Maura's parents tell Maura that they are going to sell their old house and ask Kate to tell her because she doesn't take bad news well. All that mother and father need is for the girls to come and clean their room. The sisters meet at the airport and, upon arriving home, learn that the house has already been sold and all the family's belongings have been collected except for their own. The girls fondly look through their diaries and remember the past. And then Kate comes up with a brilliant idea: they should have one last party. After all, Mora was modest throughout her childhood and, unlike her sister, was not a party girl. They invite former classmates and arrange a loud disco. Read more The screenwriter of the movie "Sisters" Paula Pell wrote the story specifically for actresses Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Previously, she worked on several series, as well as episodes of the popular show "Saturday Night Live". Initially, the project was called "Nest". Poehler and Fey had already met on the set of Mark Waters' teen comedy "Bad Girls." Their parents were played by James Brolin and Dianne Wiest. In the same year, the actors played a couple in the TV series "Life in Details". "Sisters" was directed by Jason Moore. His filmography includes several successful series: "Dawson's Bay", "Widower's Love", "One Tree Hill", as well as the musical comedy "The Perfect Voice" with Anna Kendrick in the lead role. For Moore, this film became the most expensive, reaching a budget of $ 30 million. One of the film's producers, Jay Roach, was involved in such famous projects as "Meeting the Parents", "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", "50 First Kisses", "Meeting the Fakers" and others. Filming of the film "Sisters" began in June 2014 in New York, and continued until the end of July. The premiere took place on December 12, 2015 in Great Britain.
