At that time, the tension of the Cold War made itself felt. Especially after the Bay of Pigs and the Caribbean crisis. Tom Hanks, who played lawyer Donovan in the movie "Bridge of Spies", said that his character's arguments in the Supreme Court about Abel are the same as those presented in real life. Also, there was no mention of James Donovan's former position in the picture. He served as general counsel of the Office of Strategic Services during World War II. This structure was the predecessor of the CIA. Therefore, there is no doubt that the lawyer was well-versed and connected with the world of intelligence. In addition to Matt Charman, the well-known Coen brothers worked on the script for the film. This is their second collaboration with Spielberg. He acted as executive producer of their film "Iron Grip" with Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin. Filming of the film "Bridge of Spies" began in September 2014 and lasted 12 weeks. The locations were New York, Germany and Poland, as well as places that actually correspond to historical facts.
