In 2004, New Line Cinema was also involved in the development of the project, but abandoned it a year later. Then 20th Century Fox became interested in Deadpool and in 2011 director Tim Miller was hired. Before that, he only worked on short films. The main role went to the famous Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds. He could be seen in such films as "Trump Aces", "Buried Alive", "Voices" by Marzhan Satrapi, "The Woman in Gold", "Self/less. The Price of Immortality" by Tarsem Singh, etc. The actor said that the role in "Deadpool" will be the last where he plays a comic book hero.
