Qu'est-ce qu'on a fait au Bon Dieu?
The four daughters of the Verney family are real beauties, of whom one can only be proud. But when they grew up, the time came, which is so important for their parents - the time to get married. This is where the most interesting thing begins, because with each new son-in-law, Monsieur Claude Vernay and his wife Marie just grabbed their heads... The first one married a Chinese, the second daughter married an Arab, and the husband of the third became a Jew. A multinational family and not a single Catholic, all hope for the fourth! It turns out that in the homeland of the author of the comedy idea, the percentage of mixed weddings is 20 percent! This is despite the fact that in other countries this figure is only 3 percent. A vivid example was that the director's brother was married to a black girl. While working on the script for "Crazy Wedding", de Chevron took the character of her mother as a prototype for Marie. The woman is a Sunday school teacher and belongs to the "old school" French. Almost all actors, with the exception of Christian Clavier and Chantal Loby, were selected from artists who appeared on TV screens and cinemas no more than 6-8 years ago. And almost all of them were accepted literally after the first auditions. It was the performers of the daughters of the Verney family who were found on TV screens. Clavier and Lobi had previously worked together on the same set. Their previous film together was "Asterix and Obelix: Cleopatra's Mission". The director explained the choice to take Christian in the main role by the fact that he likes how the actor portrays anger and hatred.
