Her heart is torn between two men, but in the end the heroine accepts the offer of Thomas's hand and heart. Since he and Tom Hiddleston are friends in real life, the new performer replaced the Brit only after his blessing. As Jessica Chastain, who played Lucille Sharp, admitted in an interview, Tom Hiddleston found the script very scary. Mia Wasikowska wasn't really the original choice for the role of Edith Cushing either. Emma Stone was unable to work on Crimson Peak due to scheduling conflicts. Filming took place in Canada, in the city of Kingston and at Pinewood Studios in Toronto. They lasted only 68 days, which is a short time for director Guillermo Del Toro. For example, Pacific Rim was shot in 100 days, and Hellboy - 135. Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska recently starred with Tilda Swinton in Jim Jarmusch's film "Only Lovers Will Survive." Mia played Tilda's sister, a young vampire. Guillermo Del Toro actually wanted to do this project for a long time. But he rewrote the script many times before deciding to shoot. The first dates back to 2006.
