Captured by the Japanese, British soldiers and their commander, Colonel Nicholson, are forced to build a railway bridge across the River Kwai in Burma. Despite Colonel Saito's ferocious nature, Nicholson displays true courage. Meanwhile, the command appoints a group of commandos to destroy this strategically important object.
