The film is from the directors of the brilliant comedy "1+1" (The Untouchables). Good-natured big man Samba has been living in France for ten years, having immigrated here from Senegal. And all this time he is trying to fix his life, for example, get a job and get citizenship, which has not happened yet. His life changes when he meets Alice, when trying to avoid deportation from the country, he applies to one of the departments of the immigration service. The girl is also unhappy, she cannot arrange her personal life in any way. The author himself noted the adaptation of "Samba" positively, saying that everything he wrote was on the screen. But the interesting fact is that the female character played by Charlotte Gainsbourg was not in the novel, she was created specifically for the film. Even before filming "Untouchables", the directors themselves thought of creating something similar, which even resulted in a ten-page draft. Every character that appears in the frame of "Samba" was inspired by a real person. It happened because Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano watched a bunch of video material on the topic of citizenship and employment issues in preparation for filming. A vivid example is Yungar Fall, who played Samba's uncle. In addition to the fact that he appears on the screen for the first time, the story of his character and his personal life are closely intertwined. The premiere of the film took place on September 7, 2014 as part of the Toronto International Film Festival.
