Left Behind
The pilot of a jet airliner finds himself in a situation in which the rules of conduct are not prescribed in any manual. Without any logical foreshadowing, the passengers of his plane, including the co-pilot, suddenly just disappeared. The landing was carried out in emergency mode. It turned out that all this is just the beginning and similar disappearances of people are happening all over the planet, and in very different places. These phenomena are groundless and still have no explanation, and the number of people who do not fall into the category of strange disappearances is becoming fewer and fewer. The rights to the film were purchased before 2000. The released film received quite a lot of negative and justified criticism. Later, there was talk of a remake, which was supposed to be shot already at a level that allows the film to be classified as a blockbuster of the season. In 2010, the Cloud Ten Pictures studio received official permission to film the remake of "The Leftovers". The company stated that it was going to create a series of films with high requirements and budget. Director Vic Armstrong was attached to direct the project on October 19, 2012. At that time, the budget was supposed to be limited to 15 million dollars. Filming began on August 9, 2013, and took place in the state of Louisiana. Before the film's release, screenwriter Paul Lalonde announced that at least two sequels were planned with the same actors (Nicolas Cage and Chad Michael Murray).
