Wallace Brighton has his own podcast channel that he hosts with his friend Teddy Craft. Interested in the author of a number of popular videos on the Internet, Wallace goes to Canada to interview this strange guy. Arriving at the place, the podcaster is saddened to learn that Kill Bill Kid, as his interviewer was called, is dead. However, Brighton's journey does not end there, as he ends up in the house of local resident Howard Howe, who agrees to tell something very interesting. This old man has planned something that is sure to lead to a straight road to hell that would make Mother Nature herself horrified. Read more Having established himself as a director who went beyond eccentric and peculiar comedies, Kevin Smith developed Tusk, based on his own podcast. The story was taken from an episode called "The Walrus & The Carpenter" (The Walrus and the Carpenter), invented by Smith together with his friend Scott Messier. The director directly asked the listeners that if they wanted to translate the story into a film, they should tweet "#WalrusYes" or "#WalrusNo" respectively. The fans liked the idea, and the first step towards making a film took place. Many of Kevin Smith's films exist as if in the same universe, which is noticeable in some overlaps in the form of plots or characters. This is what happened with "Tusk", some characters of which the creator of "Clerks" transferred to his next film "Yoga Lovers" (2015). This is how almost all the characters of "Tusk" moved there, including the characters of Johnny Depp and Justin Long. The filming of the tape took place in a very short time and about 15 days were spent on them. They were held in November 2013. Initially, the director planned to show the film at the international independent film festival Sundance, but refused in favor of high-quality post-production.
