Based on a true story, this film will tell the exciting and dramatic story of the complex relationship between the eccentric multi-billionaire John Du Pont and the wrestler Mark Schultz. The rich man invites the athlete to his home, in a luxurious estate, so that he can prepare a sports team for performances at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988. His previous films have both Berlin bears and Oscar statuettes in their awards closet. For this film, Miller received a palm branch at the Cannes Film Festival as the best director. It was there that the biopic "The Fox Hunter" debuted. Channing Tatum approached the role with complete seriousness. If he could be brought into shape without much effort, having muscles after the previous films, then training for wrestling took about six months. He himself was interested in such intensive training. The same thing happened with his screen brother Mark Ruffalo. Something similar was expected of Steve Carell, who, while creating the image, studied all the written and video materials of his hero Du Pont. Miller did not particularly expect to take the comedian in the project, but was impressed by him at a personal meeting when he was choosing candidates for the main roles. The make-up, which changed the comedian's appearance in such a way, took two hours of the make-up artist's time. The late Nancy Schultz, widow of Dave Schultz, was involved in the filming. Mark Ruffalo doesn't just wear glasses in the shot, they are the glasses of the wrestler he played.
