Boyhood
Boyhood
A unique project from the director of "Haze". To some extent, it is an innovative project that will show our world through the eyes of a child over a number of years. Richard Linklater shot the film over 12 years, showing the growing up of a boy who was 6 years old at the time of filming. The tape in a wide spectrum shows the development of the child, following his life until the moment of adulthood. Moves, school, problems in the family, first love and experiences are reflected on the life line of the boy Mason, shaping him as a person. More While working on his trilogy, which includes the films "Before Dawn" (1995), "Before Sunset" (2004) and "After Midnight" (2014), the director began work on the project "Youth". Adding to his filmography with other films, Richard Linklater began shooting in the summer of 2002, working with actor Ellar Coltrane on "Youth" for a short time, but every year. Filming continued until October 2013. The first shots were taken directly in Austin, Texas, at the director's house. Lorelei Linklater, Coltrane's screen sister, is the director's daughter. The film received its title at the end of 2012, without having any title before that. After three years, Laureline Linklater lost interest in participating in the project, asking her father to somehow "remove" her character. However, in the end, everything was decided, which Richard himself insisted on. Otherwise, he had no idea what to do with his daughter's character, and he didn't want to change anything. The premiere of the film falls on the beginning of 2014, when it enters the competitive program of the Sundance International Film Festival. In addition, "Youth" was shown as part of the Berlin Film Festival, where it won three bears, including in the Best Director category (silver).
