Believe in God and you will receive his blessing. In this historical epic from the iconic director Ridley Scott, you will learn one version of the life of Moses. He had every chance to die, when in the time of the pharaohs there was an order to kill all Jews immediately after their birth. But it so happens that Moses avoided this and even grew up with Ramses, the future pharaoh. They grew up in the same family, but their life paths diverge. The future prophet leaves his house to return later and free the slaves. The defiant Moses knows that God is with him, who will help to oppose the powerful empire. Read more It is clear that this film was not created as a direct transfer of texts from the Bible, but as a director's interpretation. The very filming of the epic was dedicated by Ridley Scott to his brother Tony, who committed suicide in 2012. The recruitment of the cast began in the spring of 2013, already then, in March, the director officially announced that he wanted to see specifically Christian Bale in the role of Moses. Daren Aronofsky also wanted to shoot him, but the actor could not take part in "Noah" due to his busy schedule. It's funny that Ben Kingsley, who played the role of Noon here, managed to be in the "skin" of Moses before, having starred in the television "Prophet Moses: The Leader of the Deliverer" (1995). Gaining momentum, the creation of the film began already in the fall of 2013. The place of work was Spain, but some scenes were shot in England, at the Pinewood studio. By all accounts, "Exodus: Gods and Kings" was shot in 57 days, almost two months. The number of extras is impressive, sometimes up to 3,000 people in various scenes, and sometimes up to 4,000. The draft title of the film was simply "Exodus", which was later changed to "Exodus: Gods and Kings" in March 2014. The point is the title, which was already fixed on the tape of the MGM studio. At the same time, there is also the project "Gods and Kings", which Steven Spielberg was engaged in at one time.
