His literature can be attributed to the samples written by Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling. One of the directors was the screenwriter of the first part of the trilogy "Hunting Season" (2006). In another, the creators of the cartoons "Coraline in the Land of Nightmares" and "Paranorman" acted as creators. As in these two works, stop-motion technology was used in the cartoon "Family of Monsters". That is, everything that happens on the screen was filmed frame by frame, which is very painstaking. The project "Family of Monsters" began in 2008, when the Laika studio included a story about trolls in the list of future projects. However, at that time it was not yet known exactly in what form the project would be presented. The very images of monsters dressed in cardboard boxes were taken directly from the illustrations of Alan Snow himself. For actor Ben Kingsley, "Family of Monsters" became the second animated project in his filmography. The world of this cartoon was drawn from such sources as "Oliver Twist", "Brazil" and "The Adventures of Baron Munchausen", as stated by artists Kurt Enderle and Paul Lesaine.
