This is the story of the inhabitants of the Romanian village of Krasna, which is located on the territory of Ukraine. They are preparing for the Malanka holiday, a holiday that is a symbolic event for every resident of Krasnodar. And for young boys from Krasnya, it is a kind of rite of initiation in life. Malanka is a carnival where everyone participates and has their role in a bizarre pagan event. The film will consist of 5 novels, which will be about the fate of the main characters. Each of the novels reveals the nature and essence of one of the characters of the Malanka holiday against the background of various events and life collisions, filmed with the participation of various people. Heroes are representatives of a certain archetype of the character of the holiday, so to speak, the role is the same, but the actors are different. The master of masks Georgy Ilyich will become a character who will serve as a kind of counterpoint through all the novels. The stories and storylines of all characters constantly intersect and intertwine throughout the film, as if on a large canvas. There are versions of the film for 52 and 90 minutes.
