Sightseers
A black comedy from the creators of the films "Zombie named Shaun" and "Such a bad ass", which you liked so much. Chris and Tina are a couple in love who are traveling to the north of England in their small and cozy van. The purpose of the trip is just to "walk around", but the most important thing is Chris' desire, as he put it, to show Tina his world. The couple has a love that they never tire of expressing to each other in the van, sometimes without being ashamed that they will be heard in the parking lot. Only something distinguishes them from an ordinary couple in love. Over time, their journey leaves behind a bloody trail, although there are reasons for this! Read more Steve Orley and Alice Lowe, performers of the main roles of the film, in addition to the acting component of the filming process, also acted as screenwriters of the film. Before that, both actors managed to shine in more than one project of original groups, attached to certain cult works of television and cinema. In order to get into the shoes of their characters as best as possible, Lowe and Orley watched a lot of documentaries about all kinds of serial killers. In addition, the humorous side of the characters of "Lovers on Wheels" was taken from the film "Whitnail and Me" (1986), or rather the film served as a source of inspiration. The film made its way to the screens only seven years after a meeting of friends who discussed the idea at one of the holidays. It remained in the form of an idea until Alice Lowe showed drafts of the script for "Lovers on Wheels" to Edgar Wright, with whom she had worked in 2007 on "Kind of Badass" (and later on "Armageddon"). Later, Edgar Wright, acting as an executive producer, gave the green light to the project, and the director was, one might say, a novice director, Ben Whitley. The director agreed to take on the film without even reading the script, as he was already familiar with the work of Lowe and Orley.
