Read more Following the time around the characters in the frame, "Before Midnight" tells about the events, 18 years after the meeting of the heroes in the first film. The basis for all three films was a very real meeting between director Richard Linklater and a girl named Amy. The director dedicated "Before Midnight" to the memory of Amy, who, as he learned after the release of the first film, died in an accident. Having worked well with Richard Linkliner during the filming of the first film, Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke were happy to participate in the work on the sequel. For him, the actors together with Linkliner worked on the script, as and when "Before Sunset" was filmed. All the work on the film took almost a record 15 days, which fell on the summer of 2012. Filming took place quite quietly. For a long time, the creators could not decide when exactly to start them, but everything turned out well and "Before Midnight" continued the tradition of the series and was released 9 years after the previous film. It all cost no more than 3 million dollars. Like the previous parts, the film was screened at film festivals, the first of which were Sundance and Cannes, although the latter screened the film outside the competition program.
