Once upon a time, during the brutal clashes during the progressive power of apartheid, Ali Sokhila almost died at the hands of a member of the Inkhat organization. Now, he is the local police chief in Cape Town. Two murdered women are found in the city, the first of whom was an eighteen-year-old girl, still a teenager. Investigating this case together with the charismatic policeman Brian Ipkin, the partners come across something they should not have seen. It turns out that the murders of two girls are really connected, but the reason for their deaths lies in a rather deep well, the darkness of which hides a much greater danger not only for these two cops, but also for a much larger number of people. The plot of the book reveals to the viewer a picture of post-colonial Cape Town, in which the specter of apartheid still roams. Working on the script for his own films is not the first experience for Jerome Salle. So he worked on the script of Largo Winch, which is based on a French comic, and the script of "The Elusive" (2005), in which Vencel Cassel played the main role. For Orlando Bloom, the role of a "free officer" who, according to the plot, helps Ali Sokhill, the character of Forrest Whitaker, became a kind of coup. He decided to get rid of the image of a sweet and refined handsome man who stuck to him after the films "Elizabethtown", "Troy" and the film series "Pirates of the Caribbean Sea" and played in "Zulu" a strong, charismatic guy with stubble and a cigarette in his teeth. The role of Forest Whitaker was initially attached to actor Djimon Hounsou, who nevertheless refused the project for personal reasons. Filmed about events in Africa by a French director, the English-language film "Zulu" became the closing film of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Adhering to the plot, the filming took place exclusively on the territory of Cape Town, in Africa.
