Fanny is a middle-aged woman who is fed up with everything. Despite the fact that she has enough money, the woman develops such an aversion to material goods that even when Fanny is evicted from her apartment, the woman does not care. She steals a wheelbarrow from a dealer she just met on the street, drives it into the woods and burns all her remaining money there. For sustenance and small expenses, she gets a job on a potato farm. In parallel with this, the story of another woman is shown, whose fate was diametrically opposite. When they meet, they realize that they have been given another chance and switch places. For Austrian director Daniel Hesle, this is the second full-length project, in addition to which there are a couple of short films in his filmography. The picture itself was shot on a rather tiny budget, especially by Austrian standards. "Soldier Jeannette" was presented at the Sundance International Film Festival in 2013, as it is to some extent an experimental film. The severity of the composition and visual style contrast sharply with the richness of nature. It is the impressive filming and artistic responsibility in the frame, among other things, that makes the film stand out. At the same time, Hesle maintained the plot component as well, showing the limits of the characters of the heroines, who got into a situation that was foreign to them. The visual sophistication also divides the frame along with the manner of filming, which may remind someone of "Blair Witch".
