After the death of his father, the aspiring New York writer Sel Paradise meets the young and charming Dean Moriarty, who has just been released from prison and is married to the seductive beauty Marilu. They instantly become inseparable friends. Striving for freedom, Sel, Dean and Marilou break away from the conventions of life and go on a journey to meet the world, people and themselves.
