Maya wants to know everything about how her parents met and fell in love. Will's story begins in 1992, when he, a young politician with eyes shining with enthusiasm, moves from Wisconsin to New York to work in the presidential election campaign. The father tells Maya about his past as a young idealist, how he learned all the pros and cons of big city politics, as well as the history of romantic relationships with three completely different women.
