Will Kane, the sheriff of the small town of Hadleyville, is about to retire and leave for his honeymoon with his young wife. But he will have to change his mind when he learns that at 12 o'clock in the afternoon, his old enemy, the gangster Frank Miller, will arrive at the train station, who is eager to deal with the sheriff and the whole town for the fact that he was once behind bars. Against advice, Kane decides to stay and take on Miller. The whole city freezes - no one wants to come to the sheriff's aid. But at exactly noon, Kane has to go to the station... Don't miss a single shot in this cool, beautifully directed and masterfully acted film, the first so-called "adult western", in which the traditional and predictable elements of action, songs and minimal love give way to rapid, intense development of events and situations, as well as complex development and development of characters.
