Ireland. 1920 year. Peasants and workers create fighting groups, joining the ranks of the Irish Republican Army. The brothers Damien and Teddy are distinguished by their thoroughness in the fight against the British invaders. But if the second never saw another way, then the first made a difficult decision, giving up the career of a doctor. The subversive activity of yesterday's boys (average age - 18-20 years) is simple but effective: raids on roads, shootouts in bars, a wide network of agencies throughout the country. Their goal is to show the Queen's subjects that freedom-loving Ireland does not want to be the stepchild of an island empire. But now that the peace treaty has been signed, Great Britain recognizes the autonomy of the republic, leaving behind the levers of political pressure. Teddy, yesterday's leader of the combat unit, advocates cooperation with the official authorities, Damien urges not to stop there. Sharp rejection of the new beliefs of yesterday's associates leads to a conflict, the solution of which can be the physical death of one of the parties.
