May 27, 1942. Czechoslovakia is occupied by the Nazis. In Prague, the high-ranking Nazi Reinhard Heydrich, appointed Reichsprotector, gathers the most famous townspeople and expresses dissatisfaction with acts of sabotage at factories and plants. Heydrich believes that the Czech workers are not just sabotaging vital production at the Škoda factories, but are also calling for resistance by issuing anti-fascist leaflets. If the level of production does not increase, the most severe measures will be taken, and for the sake of intimidation, demonstrative shootings of saboteurs will be carried out on the factory square. Heydrich is killed almost immediately after the meeting. For the Czechs, Heydrich's death became a symbol of hope for freedom from Nazi oppression. Enraged by the death of the German governor, the Nazis demand that the population hand over the murderers, the Gestapo begins to take hundreds of innocent citizens hostage, and the prisoners are shot one by one. The occupiers have only one demand: to hand over Heydrich's killers...
