Not recommended for viewers with a sensitive psyche. Only for experienced moviegoers! David Lynch's first feature film, shot in black and white, can shock with its repulsive abomination, which, however, is impossible to tear away from. The hero of the picture had a mutant child with an ear that squeaks - "speak louder, it's deaf", and there are many difficulties with the introduction of this monster into the family. The hero himself also makes a creepy impression, but the main thing is the surreal visual series of the picture, the irrepressible, black fantasy of the director. Example: fried chickens moving their legs pathetically with blood dripping under a knife and fork. Lovers of extravagant absurdity will appreciate this frenzy and will watch it many times. Oddly enough, despite the supposed absurdity, the film awakens something in the viewer, just as the color scheme in an abstract artist's painting fascinates. In the West, the picture was and still is a cult success.
