Sam Lowry is a tiny cog in the huge rusty bureaucratic machine of the totalitarian state of the future. Sam tries not to get into trouble, but one day, noticing a mistake in a document that could lead to the arrest of an innocent person, he decides to correct it. The good intention of a humble clerk unexpectedly causes a whole avalanche of strange coincidences and mysterious events for him, and soon it turns out that a small mistake can shake a mighty colossus on clay legs.
