1944 year. The Nazi mystical experiment failed. A product of sorcerous spells, Satan's child, Hellboy, leaves his sanctuary and is intercepted by state agents. In their caring hands, this child of evil should transform into a defender of good and an inquisitive investigator of the paranormal, although he looks like a full-fledged demon with red skin, a tail, a huge armored arm and two steel circles where horns should be (if they grow, he can quickly drop them). The started investigation leads him to the person who started this whole experiment, to the Nazi magician. The demon is accompanied by an equally colorful audience: the pyrokinetic woman Liz Sherman, for whom he has feelings, and Abe Sapien, an amphibian hominid.
