Craig Schwartz (John Cusack) is a gifted street puppeteer, but New York is useless for his talent. He has been married to Lotta (Cameron Diaz), the owner of a pet store, for ten years. Their marriage became a habit. They have neither money nor passion. But Craig answers a newspaper ad for a job and ends up on the 7 1/2 floor of an office building where everyone is a crab and behind the closet there is a door that leads to ... One day in his office, Craig slams a drawer and one of the folders falls behind the closet. Pushing the closet aside, he notices the blocked door and discovers a dark tunnel behind it. A flash of light and... Craig realizes he's found a portal that allows him to become someone else, like John Malkovich! It works like this: you fall, like Alice, into a hole, shake yourself in the brain of an idol, look at life for 15 minutes through his eyes, then fall out on the highway in New Jersey. It is inexpensive: 200 bucks. There is only one question: do you need it?
