Three people are involved in a car accident on Mulholland Drive in downtown Hollywood. Two men die, a woman (her name was Rita) manages to escape - she literally crawls away from the scene of the disaster and hides in the bushes near a private cottage. After the accident, she does not remember anything, not even her name. Meanwhile, two people are talking in the restaurant: Herb and Dan. Dan talks about a nightmare that takes place in the same restaurant where they are now. As the dream begins to come true, the two walk into a nearby alley where Dan suddenly dies for no apparent reason…
