The year is 2054, Washington, DC. A special pre-crime department has been in existence for six years. A special experimental program allows the department's employees to find out about a murder that has not yet been committed and arrest the suspect before he commits the crime. The system works perfectly, but one day the head of the pre-crime department John Anderton (Tom Cruise) turns out to be a suspected criminal himself.
